GARLIC MUSTARD IS TAKING OVER OUR WILD HABITATS
Garlic mustard is the weed to watch for. If we would like to be green and save our native habitat we must stay on top of eliminating this noxious weed.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Garlic mustard has a small cluster of white flowers and is in bloom from late May to mid June. This invasive plant has been declared a noxious weed in Minnesota and surrounding states.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO REMOVE GARLIC MUSTARD? Eradicating garlic mustard should be viewed as necessary as removing buckthorn is crucial to our sustainable native habitat. This biennial plant grows along the roadside, in ditches and on the edge of the woods. The best time to eradicate it is before the flowers set seed and scatter to the wind.
