Watering Tips

Water Deeply
Deep watering is critical for the care of your outdoor plants and veggies. To give your plants the water they need, soak your gardens/pots until well saturated and then wait several days before irrigating again.

Use Mulch
As the temperature rises so does the need to mulch your gardens. Mulch helps with moisture retention, weed suppression, erosion control and gives a clean finished look. HLG has several types of mulch available depending on your preferences and your plants needs.

Add to the Soil
When appropriate, add water retaining organic matter to your soils.

Consider a Windbreaker
Installing fences, bushes or other obstacles which slow or reduce gusty winds can help prevent the drying out and blowing of your topsoil.
